District Committee:
We are proud to announce that all 5 of our district committee candidates won their primary!

The District Committee is a body whose major function is to decide which candidates at the district level receive the endorsement of the democratic party. In our district, people typically don't run for this office, and if no one runs, the representative may select and appoint their own district committee without an election. There is no code of ethics for this board, and representatives often select themselves and their friends and family. Many in our district decided that we need a more democratic process for this endorsement process, and 5 candidates have stepped up to run for this office to transform it from a rubber stamp from the representatives friends and family, to a real democratic process.
Those five candidates are:
Glenn Diana Sherman, Anya R. Wallack, Christopher E. Goulart, Maureen Evelyn Molloy Morrow, and Michelle E. McGaw
These 5 candidates have pledged to stand up for the democratic values, and a fair democratic process.
a note:You will notice that Michelle McGaw is running for State Representative and a District Committee seat. If she is elected both to State Representative and to the District Committee, she will step down from the District Committee and advocate that someone from our district that has been actively involved in our local politics, who is not a family member, business associate, and who has a commitment to the Democratic ideals and platforms be selected to replace her. She will work to make sure that all three towns are represented.
