Representative Michelle McGaw

Michelle McGaw has a long track record of working hard for our community. That’s why we can count on her to stand up for us at the State House.

Michelle has lived in Portsmouth, RI for more than 30 years raising a family, volunteering, and working as a pharmacist in elder care.

Michelle McGaw is a pharmacist from Portsmouth RI, working to optimize pharmaceutical care for the elderly. She graduated from the University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy where she met her husband Jim. They have made Portsmouth their home since 1991 and raised two grown sons, Jake and Max. Michelle enjoys spending time promoting positive change.  In recent years she has been focused on finding ways to make the RI of the future a better place for our families to thrive.  

Michelle currently serves on the House Committee on Healthy and Human Services, Committee on State Government and Elections and the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources.

Michelle also serves on the University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy Advisory Board.

Prior community involvement included board positions with Portsmouth Little League and Portsmouth Babe Ruth, including work with the Portsmouth Little League Challenger Division.  

She was first elected to represent District 71 in 2020.
